Tom Bamford is in line for a national Enterprising Young Brits 2010 award following his shortlisting last week.
Tom is founding director of a company called TecInteractive, based in Heage.
They fit out meeting rooms with interactive screens to improve meeting performance.
They have a focus in the construction industry, where their technology helps improve the way that engineers/designers/managers collaborate on drawings, plans and other documents.
2-3 weeks ago Tom entered a competition called Enterprising Young Brits 2010, which is aimed at people under 30 who have an entrepreneurial edge and are doing something interesting in the business world.
He received an email last week saying that he had made the last 20 in his category.
Tom said : "The judges were very impressed and have invited me to the awards ceremony at the institute of directors in London on Tues 6th April (i.e next week)."
"There will be some top business leaders, members of parliament etc at the event and I am very much looking forward to it."
I'm sure the whole village would like to wish Tom well next week.
